Wireless earbuds are the gadget most people carry every day, and one of the easiest tech gifts to get right. The catch is choosing: the best pairs cost $200 or more, and the right one depends as much on your phone and your ears as on the sound.
We compared seven pairs you can order on Amazon today, from the $43.19 CMF Buds 2 Plus to the $259.99 Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds. All seven have active noise cancellation. Prices, ratings, and rankings are snapshots from Amazon’s U.S. listings on Oct. 30, 2026, and they change often.
What to look for
Your phone. This matters more than anything else. The AirPods Pro 3 and Powerbeats Pro 2 pair instantly with an iPhone and get Apple’s extras, while the Galaxy Buds4 Pro save their best features for Samsung phones. The Sony, Bose, Soundcore, and CMF pairs work the same on Android and iPhone through their own apps.
Fit. Earbuds that don’t seal in your ear won’t cancel noise or deliver bass, however good the specs. Every pick here comes with several ear-tip sizes. TechGearLab found the Sony WF-1000XM6 and Bose buds bulky for some ears, while it rated the AirPods Pro 3 highly for comfort.
Noise cancellation and calls. These are where premium pairs earn their price. In lab tests, SoundGuys measured the AirPods Pro 3 and Sony blocking the most outside noise, and Wirecutter found the Liberty 5 Pro had the best noise-reducing microphones it tested for calls.
Battery and water resistance. Five to ten hours per charge is normal with noise cancellation on, and the case adds several more charges. If you run or sweat, look for at least IPX4; IP55 and IP57 add dust protection, and IP57 buds survive a brief dunk.
How we chose
Expert testing first. We started from lab-tested earbud guides at SoundGuys and TechGearLab, plus Wirecutter’s long-running picks and reviews at TechRadar and PCMag. Every pair here is a top pick in at least one of them. Specs come from the makers’ Amazon listings and those tests.
Then what people actually buy. Every pick is sold on Amazon’s U.S. store with at least 800 ratings. The AirPods Pro 3 have more than 17,000 ratings, and the Bose, Sony, Soundcore, and Samsung pairs each show 1,000 or more bought in the past month.

Apple AirPods Pro 3: best for iPhone

Photo: Amazon listing
If you have an iPhone, start with the Apple AirPods Pro 3. They earned TechGearLab’s highest overall score of any earbuds it tested, with top marks for comfort and call quality, and PCMag gave them its 5-out-of-5 Exemplary rating. SoundGuys calls them the best earbuds for iPhone and measured the strongest noise cancellation in its guide.
Apple’s listing promises up to 8 hours of listening with noise cancellation on, and SoundGuys measured 8 hours and 42 minutes. They come with five ear-tip sizes, track your heart rate during workouts, can work as a hearing aid, and support Live Translation with a compatible iPhone. The IP57 rating means they handle sweat and a brief dunk.
They are $183.44 on Amazon, down from a $249 list price, with 4.4 stars from more than 17,000 ratings.
Trade-offs: on Android you lose most of the smart features, and the EQ controls are basic compared with Sony’s or Samsung’s apps.
Sony WF-1000XM6: best sound and noise cancellation

Photo: Amazon listing
The Sony WF-1000XM6 is SoundGuys’s best wireless earbuds overall. It measured some of the best noise cancellation it has tested and 9 hours and 41 minutes per charge, and it praised the sound, the LDAC hi-res codec, the 10-band EQ, and multipoint pairing with two devices at once. TechGearLab scored its noise cancelling the highest of any pair it tested.
Sony’s listing says eight microphones and its QN3e processor, three times faster than the last model, drive the noise cancelling, with 8 hours on the buds and 24 with the case. A 5-minute charge gives an hour of listening, and the buds are rated IPX4.
They are $229.99 on Amazon, down from $329.99, with more than 2,000 bought in the past month.
Trade-offs: TechGearLab found the buds bulky and rated comfort well below the AirPods, and the Amazon rating is a modest 3.6 stars from 844 ratings. Try them on if you have small ears.
Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro: best for Samsung phones

Photo: Amazon listing
The Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro are SoundGuys’s pick for Samsung owners. It measured strong noise cancellation, about 6 hours per charge, and excellent sound, and the buds carry an IP57 rating. TechGearLab gave them a high comfort score and measured 7.8 hours of battery.
Paired with a Galaxy phone, you get Samsung’s extras, including Samsung’s hi-res audio codec and Galaxy AI features. They are $191.83 on Amazon in white, sold by Amazon, down from a $249.99 list price, with 4.4 stars from more than 2,600 ratings.
Trade-offs: on an iPhone or a non-Samsung Android phone, many of those features disappear, and SoundGuys notes there is no true multipoint pairing across brands.
Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro: best for calls

Photo: Amazon listing
The Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro are Wirecutter’s top pick for wireless earbuds. Its testers found they had the best noise-reducing microphones they had tried, so callers hear you clearly. The case has a small touchscreen for switching modes without your phone.
TechRadar lists 9.2 mm drivers, Bluetooth 6.1, about 6.5 hours of listening per charge with noise cancelling, and up to 28 hours with the case. Wirecutter measured about 6.5 hours with noise cancelling on and found a 5-minute charge gave about 4 hours. The buds are rated IP55.
They are $169.99 on Amazon, sold by Anker’s own store and shipped by Amazon, with 4.3 stars from more than 1,600 ratings and 2,000-plus bought in the past month.
Trade-offs: Wirecutter found battery life drops to about 4.5 hours with every feature on,.
Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds (2nd Gen): best Bose sound

Photo: Amazon listing
The Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds (2nd Gen) are TechGearLab’s best all-around pick. It rated their sound 8.7 out of 10, one of the highest scores it gave, and measured strong noise cancelling and clear calls. Bose’s CustomTune tunes the sound and noise cancelling to your ears each time you put them in, and Immersive Audio adds a spatial, room-like effect.
Bose lists 6 hours per charge, or 4 with Immersive Audio, and the case adds three full charges and now charges wirelessly. They are rated IPX4.
They are $259.99 on Amazon, down from $299, with 4.0 stars from more than 3,600 ratings and 3,000-plus bought in the past month.
Trade-offs: TechGearLab measured only about 5.8 hours per charge and found the buds bulky, and they are the most expensive pair here.
Beats Powerbeats Pro 2: best for workouts

Photo: Amazon listing
The Beats Powerbeats Pro 2 are the workout pick at both SoundGuys and Wirecutter. Flexible ear hooks keep them in place through runs and lifts, built-in heart-rate sensors work with fitness apps, and Apple’s H2 chip gives one-tap pairing and noise cancellation with an iPhone. SoundGuys measured about 10 hours per charge.
Beats lists up to 45 hours with the case, which charges wirelessly, and a 5-minute charge gives about 90 minutes. They are rated IPX4 and work with Android through the Beats app.
They are $199.95 on Amazon, sold by Amazon, down from $249.99, with 4.1 stars from nearly 6,000 ratings.
Trade-offs: TechGearLab scored them low for comfort during long wear and lowest of its lineup for call quality, and SoundGuys notes there is no multipoint or custom EQ. Buy them for the gym, not the office.
CMF Buds 2 Plus: best budget

Photo: Amazon listing
The CMF Buds 2 Plus, from Nothing’s budget brand CMF, are SoundGuys’s best budget pick and TechGearLab’s budget pick too. For a fraction of the price of the others, you get noise cancellation, 12 mm drivers, the LDAC hi-res codec, six microphones, and an IP55 rating. SoundGuys measured more than 10 hours per charge, and TechGearLab about 12.8 hours.
CMF’s listing claims up to 61.5 hours with the case and 50 dB of noise cancelling, and a 10-minute charge gives 8.5 hours of listening. They are $43.19 on Amazon in light grey, sold by Amazon, with 4.2 stars from more than 800 ratings.
Trade-offs: noise cancelling trails the premium pairs in SoundGuys’s tests, and the listing has far fewer ratings than the big brands.
Bottom line
If you have an iPhone, buy the Apple AirPods Pro 3: they are comfortable, cancel noise as well as anything here, and cost $183.44 right now. Samsung owners should get the Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro for $191.83. On any phone, the Sony WF-1000XM6 is the pick for the best sound and noise cancelling, if they fit your ears.
If you make a lot of calls, the Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro at $169.99 has the clearest microphones. The Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds (2nd Gen) is the luxury choice for Bose fans, the Beats Powerbeats Pro 2 is built for the gym, and the CMF Buds 2 Plus proves you can get noise cancelling for $43.19.
Whichever you choose, try every ear-tip size in the box: a good seal is the single biggest upgrade for sound and noise cancelling.
